Rosie's parents are alternate universe versions of Star and Marco.
Alternate versions of Star are proven to exist, so one of those dimensions could be the Rosie's Rules universe. In this timeline, "Star" is Liz, an ordinary girl from rural Wisconsin (proof here
). Echo Creek in this timeline is also in Wisconsin instead of California. "Star" could have been a nickname Liz had when she was little. It's also possible that Liz liked to pretend to be a magical princess when she was little. The nickname, her blue color scheme, her relationship to someone named Marco, and her blonde hair are the only things connecting her to Star Butterfly. Marco Fuentes is an alternate version of Marco Diaz. They are both Mexican and wear red, but Fuentes lived in Mexico City instead of Echo Creek.It is confirmed that Crystal is Liz's daughter from a previous marriage. Liz's previous husband could have been an alternate version of Oskar.
- In "Sister Surprise," Marco calls Liz 'cielo,' which means 'sky' in Spanish. This just so happens to go along with the Theme Naming of the Butterfly family, which contains names like Star, Estrella, Moon, Celena, Crescenta, Eclipsa, Solaria, and Meteora.
There will be an episode with Liz's ex-husband.

Peg has a single mom, so it's possible that she got married and had Rosie and Iggy later on. Also, little Crystal at Liz and Marco's wedding
