WMG / Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

There will be a reference to the "Jill Sandwich" line
An early scene will have Jill making a sandwich of her own ingredients, which she dubs the "Jill Sandwich."
  • Confirmed! In one of the previews she steals Wesker's sandwich and says "You snooze you lose. It's Jill's sandwich now."

Since in this timeline the Mansion and Raccoon City Incidents are happening at the same time. Nemesis will pursue Claire instead of Jill.
They basically gave Claire Jill's role in the Raccoon City Incident. Investigating Umbrella and getting too close to the truth. With Jill and the other STARS members investigating the mansion, thereby removing Jill from the Raccoon City incident entirely. Umbrella will send Nemesis after Claire instead. Making him a Composite Character of Nemmy and Mr. X. Which is what they did to Mr. X in Resident Evil 2 (Remake) anyway. Bonus points if he tries to say "STARS" but gets interrupted every time he does.
  • Jossed: Nemesis makes no appearance.

Never Trust a Trailer is in effect and Wesker isn't The Mole here.
While Wesker from the games is a full on Card-Carrying Villain who most first time players could probably guess was the villain from their first interaction with him. What with his all black clothing and Sunglasses at Night. Here, he pulls a gun on Jill and says "Maybe I'm not giving you a choice." in his vignette... right before shooting a zombie in the head. Maybe since Barry is nowhere to be found for now, Wesker is the one who's being blackmailed into betraying the team. He clearly doesn't look all that happy about it.
  • Partially Jossed: Wesker is still The Mole, but he's left out of the loop as far as who his employers truly are, and actually tries to convince Jill to join him and get out of town. He's overall an Adaptational Nice Guy in this, with a much softer side than he ever shows in the games.

If a sequel had been made, Wesker would have become a kind of Yandere with Jill..
Considering that he has feelings for them, it is possible that he would end up obsessed with her.

There will be a sequel. Regardless of the backlash from fans.
Anderson got 6 movies despite them increasingly becoming a love letter to his wife and MASSIVE fan backlash from them. That being said, his series has its fans. The same could be said for this film, with it being Truer to the Text. This troper even wanted to go back in the theater immediately and watch it again.

Leon didn't "shoot his partner in the ass during training."
That story was part of the coverup his father had to come up with. Note that Leon says it's more complicated than that but never elaborates. It's possible that his partner was a Zombie Infectee and had to be put down. But his story was too wild to be believed. Not to mention Umbrella's potential involvement. Hence the embarrassing story of him shooting his partner in the ass during training. More believable for a rookie than a zombie attack. Would also explain why he's so calm during the outbreak in Raccoon.
