Guesses for the 2023 Universal movie
It's confirmed that the show is getting new content, specifically a movie from Universal. (Dinosaur Train also got a movie for Universal Studios) It is titled Ready Jet Go!: Space Camp

Ashleigh Ball, Jaeda Lily Miller, and Vienna Leacock are reprising their roles as Jet, Mindy, and Sydney respectively. They'll obviously be returning. But what about the others? And what's the plot of whatever's coming out? List your guesses below

  • Sean and Sunspot returning is inevitable. Same with Carrot and Celery. Face 9000 may not be so lucky, but I'm still holding out hope.
    • Confirmed. They are all in the iTunes preview clip (available here), even Face.
  • Heck, Mitchell might even return.
  • The DSA scientists are relatively likely — at least just Rafferty and Skelley. Poor Bergs.
    • Half-confirmed, half-jossed. Skelley and Bergs are in the movie, but not Rafferty.
  • Jet 2 might make a comeback, since he's a major Creator's Pet.
    • Jossed. He's not in the new movie at all.
  • We might get a new character
    • Perhaps it could be one of the missing parents.
      • Half-confirmed, half-jossed. None of the missing parents appear, but we do get several new characters.
  • It could be animated by yet another new studio. Hopefully this will result in an Animation Bump and Big Budget Beef-Up.
    • According to LinkedIn, it is still animated by Giant Wheel, but there is indeed a Big Budget Beef-Up.
  • It will be a musical and have lots of songs, duh.
  • Maybe it's gonna be the time capsule special that Bartlett wanted to do. The kids learn about the Golden Record aboard Voyager 1, and make their own time capsule.
    • Jossed. The movie is about space camp, not time capsules.
  • The cast will stay the same age despite 4 years passing since the end of the series.
    • Confirmed. As seen in the iTunes preview clip, everyone still looks the same.
  • Recasts perhaps. Miller got to reprise her role as Mindy and Leacock got to reprise her role as Sydney. Gordon and Schombing may or may not be recast as Sean and Mitchell.
    • Confirmed. As seen on Apple TV, both Sean and Mitchell have new voice actors.
  • This is random, but I want Lillian to come back.
    • Jossed. She's not in the movie at all, not even in crowd shots.
  • Like how Dinosaur Train: Adventure Island was a big Jurassic Farce to Jurassic Park, the movie could be a Whole-Plot Reference to a famous sci-fi movie. Like 2001: A Space Odyssey, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, or ET The Extraterrestrial.
  • Since there's a four year gap in between One Small Step and the feature film, the crew could listen to criticism (like Mindy being a Spotlight-Stealing Squad) and fix their mistakes.
    • Sorta confirmed. Mindy is actually handled really well in the movie. She doesn't get more screentime than anyone else, and contributes to the plot in a neat way. She's also nice to everyone, even Sean.
  • The other WMGs below will come true. Maybe it could have the Propulsions captured by the government, or simply visiting Uranus or Mercury.
    • Jossed. It is not about any of these things.
  • The Super Saucer will come back, picking up from "One Small Step".
    • Jossed.
  • The new content could be a podcast. As of the time of this writing, Dinosaur Train has debuted a podcast. Plus, other PBS shows like Odd Squad and Molly of Denali have podcasts. RJG could very well get one.
    • Jossed. It is in fact a feature-length movie.
  • The movie will either implicitly or explicitly confirm a ship or two.
    • Jossed. There are no 'shippy' moments in the movie, explicit or implicit. Let's take the two biggest ships for example: Mitchell/Mindy and Jet/Sean. The only interaction between Mitchell and Mindy is when Mitchell reluctantly lets her use his phone. Jet and Sean are just great pals, like always (I mean that in a sincere way, not in a "historians will say they were best friends" way).
  • Plot prediction: in the movie, Jet, Sean, Sydney, and Mindy go to space camp, where they train to become real astronauts. However, something goes wrong within the camp, so it's up to Team Propulsion to use their knowledge to save the day.
    • Sorta. The conflict of the movie, confirmed by this description, is Sunspot developing an allergic reaction, which causes Jet and the others to leave the camp to find the cure.

The Great Galacto is human
Humans can survive on Bortron 7, so it is likely that the Great Galacto was a human who discovered Bortron 7, and then made a TV show there. The fact that he has a Scottish accent despite supposedly being a space alien adds to this.

Stella's parents are dissidents
At the end of the movie, Stella mentions she has parents when she has to leave to eat dinner with them. Given that Stella's Jerkass, Competition Freak behaviors are not typical of Bortronians, it is likely that her parents conditioned her to be like that. They might be dissidents who dislike the Bortronian culture of always being cheerful and friendly.

Mascarpone is Marzipan
In the TV episode "Ice Moon Enceladus," Jet randomly mentions the frozen star system of Marzipan, which was never mentioned again. Perhaps Marzipan was retconned into Mascarpone. All the evidence is there:
  • Both have food-related names that begin with the letter "M" (marzipan is an almond-based confection and mascarpone is a sort of Italian cream cheese. They are also both common in Italy).
  • Mascarpone has a cold surface. You could say it's frozen.
    • Sorta confirmed. When asked about it, Craig Bartlett, said that there's "probably a connection."

Galacto was intended to be a Sheep in Sheep's Clothing
Galacto is established as Jet's hero, but he demonstrated a not-so-good influence by encouraging his fan club, which consists entirely of children, to imitate his dangerous stunts. His voice actor is known for playing villains, and he wears purple and black, which are stereotypical villain colors. However, Galacto does turn out to be a legit good and heroic person. For this reason, I think Galacto was supposed to be a "twist hero" of some kind.
