Three of the possible appearances for the protagonist are Josuke, Koichi and Jolyne's. And when trading in 9 Badges of Honor in the Developer's Room to be able to play as Josuke, the game says that his route is only available at the moment, and that there might be more in the future.- Semi Confirmed, Semi-debunked. The Database of the game has actors for Kira, Okuyasu, Koichi, Akira, Ikuro/Baoh, Tonio, Holly, Gyro, and Jolyne. All have a unique skill list and stat curve, and Kira even has a partial intro programmed into the game. There are also player discs for all of those characters besides Tonio and Holly. Unfortunately, these characters were never fully implemented and it seems like they never will be. We also don't know why most of these characters are implemented as actors(Some like Tonio and Holly seem more likely to be potential temporary allies), so they might not even have been planned as playable characters.
Buddy Holly would have been Holly's stand.
In the files, there is Dummied Out data for many different playable characters, including Holly, as well as data for a stand named Buddy Holly. Holly is the only one of the characters who lacks a stand in canon, and Buddy Holly... has Holly in its name. Perhaps if Holly were to fully awaken and have control over it, she would have named it like that as her stand, it's her Buddy.
