This fangame contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: The Bee Mushroom and Cloud Flower lack their weaknesses to water.
    • The former even gets a sting attack and an instantaneous ground pound.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: The Cloud Flower and Volt Shroom function differently than in their original appearances.
    • In Super Mario Galaxy 2, the Cloud Flower let Mario create three cloud platforms with another needing to be collected to refill. Here, Mario gets 3 mid-air jumps and can slow his descent via cap.
    • In the Paper Mario series, for a short time, the Volt Shroom would damage or paralyze enemies who made contact with Mario during an attack. Here, Mario shoots a blast of electricity than goes through walls.
  • Alien Invasion: Tatanga's army invade the Mushroom Kingdom and intend to take it over along with the rest of the universe.
  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: Tatanga starts off his conquest by taking over the Mushroom Kingdom and turning it into a futuristic base.
  • Amusement Park of Doom: World 4, the Shy Guy Circus, was not originally this, but all the rides became deadly after Tatanga took over.
  • Astral Finale: The final world is the Galactic Frontier in space.
  • Big Bad: Tatanga returns and leads the invasion of the Mushroom World, intending to acquire the titular six pearls and use them with the Amulet of Krad to conquer the universe.
  • Blow You Away: Cyclone Koopa, the sixth boss, is powered by the Pearl of Wind.
  • Bullet Hell: Later bosses such as Wizen, Tatanga and Valkahara tend to make use of this during their fights.
  • The Bus Came Back: Kooper, Koops and Ms. Mowz appear as NPCs within the ship.
  • Busman's Holiday: The game opens with Mario and friends about to go on a vacation with Daisy's cruiser. Then Tatanga launches his Alien Invasion, taking over the Mushroom Kingdom and forcing the crew to flee and seek out the Pearls of Wisdom to combat his Amulet of Krad.
  • Casting a Shadow: Shadow Guy, the fourth boss, is powered by the Pearl of Shadow.
  • Disc-One Final Dungeon: Techno City, Tatanga's headquarters, is the world accessed after all six pearls are collected and has the theme of a final world. However, the boss of the world is not Tatanga, but Wizen, and afterwards the Galactic Frontier opens.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Rock Goomba, the first boss, is powered by the Pearl of Earth.
  • Final-Exam Boss: Tantanga's final form uses the various elements from other bosses, requiring you to make use of each gimmick to deal damage to Tatanga.
  • He Knows About Timed Hits: Luigi teaches you the controls in the prologue.
  • I Lied: Tatanga says this word for word after Mario defeats Shadow Guy, for which Tatanga said he would give back Daisy if Mario succeeded. Instead, he and Wizen teleport out of there with Daisy.
  • King Mook: All of the bosses except Daisy are regular enemies powered up by the Pearls; even Tatanga and Wizen are this to the regular alien enemies.
  • MacGuffin: The titular Pearls of Wisdom and after the credits the Miracle Stones.
  • MacGuffin Delivery Service: Tatanga allows Mario to grab the Pearls so that he can steal them later, which he does after Mario beats Wizen.
Wizen: Well, it appears that Mario is after the pearls, just as we suspected.
Tatanga: Good, good! That saves us the trouble of getting them ourselves! Nyahaha!
  • Making a Splash: Aqua Princess Daisy, the fifth boss, is powered by the Pearl of Water.
  • Not Always Evil: You can find several friendly versions of the enemies on the Daisy Cruiser.
  • One-Winged Angel: After Tatanga fails to take you down in combat, and after his ship is destroyed, he decides to use the Pearls on himself. This transforms him into a purple creature with Floating Hands who uses the elemental gimmicks from the previous bosses.
  • Playing with Fire: Inferno Bro, the second boss, is powered by the Pearl of Fire.
  • Post-End Game Content: After beating Tatanga and seeing the ending, the game allows you to return to each world and collect a Miracle Stone from a level in each world.note
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: This ends up being revealed during the final boss fight. A long time ago, an evil being wreaked havoc upon Tatanga's home planet and would've devastated the planet if nothing was done. Tatanga's ancestors created the Pearls to control the elements, and also to seal this evil away into the Amulet of Krad. His people, fearing the dark power now infused into the Pearls, decided to drop them off on Mario's world, convincing them with a made up story to keep them. Despite this, Tatanga decides to take the Pearls so that he can rule the universe.
    • In the post-game, the player finally gets to see this being for themselves once they collect every Miracle Stone. The being in question is called Valkalara, who serves as the game's Superboss after being unsealed.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Upon being unsealed by accident, Tatanga decides to cut his losses and flee, leaving Mario to fight Valkalara.
  • Shock and Awe: Electro-Chomp, the third boss, is powered by the Pearl of Lightning.
  • Shout-Out: Daisy constantly refers to Tatanga as E.T.
  • Superboss: If the player collects all 8 Miracle Stones from each world after beating the game, they unlock a boss fight with Valkalara, an evil being who was sealed away on Tatanga's homeworld. Upon being freed by accident due to the Miracle Stones reacting to the Amulet of Krad, her first course of action is to decide that she'll destroy the world.
  • The Very Definitely Final Dungeon: The Galactic Frontier, Tatanga's space headquarters consisting of four levels.
  • Warmup Boss: Rock Goomba is the boss of World 1 and the one who guards the first pearl.
  • Wham Line: During the fated showdown with Tatanga, he has this to say:
Tatanga: You want me to give back the pearls I stole? Technically, I didn't steal them. They belonged to my race in the first place.
