Sakura Wars V: Episode 0 ~Samurai Daughter of the Wild~ is a spin-off game in the Sakura Wars series, developed and published by Seganote  and released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2.

Set in June 1927, a samurai cowgirl named Gemini Sunrise (voiced by Sanae Kobayashi) leaves her home state of Texas to embark on an adventure in her homeland of America. With her horse Larry by her side, she gallops east to New York to find her destiny, under orders from her mysterious master. While on her travels, she makes some new friends along the way, but she is later embroiled in a nefarious plot by Patrick Hamilton and his minions.

Can Gemini put a stop to Patrick’s plot, save her friends and even America?

This game serves as a prequel to Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, which was released the following year.

This game provides examples of

  • Big Bad: Patrick Hamilton, returning from Sakura Wars: The Movie as he is responsible for trying to pursue Juanita Cushing due to her magic powers so he could use her to remake Eden.
  • "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: The game's theme song, "Samurai Soul" and its extended version, performed by Sanae Kobayashi in-character as Gemini.

However, for both of these bonuses, you will need to complete both games first.
  • Secret Character: Finishing the game once will get Ichiro Ogami. But, by entering the secret passwords: you can get Erica Fontaine (in her Chattes Noires performance outfit) and Ogami and Sakura's Kohbus respectively.
  • The Stinger: After a long epilogue montage, Gemini finally arrives in New York, the final destination in her journey.
