Red-Counter-Strike is a work-in-progress Game Mod for the Real-Time Strategy game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 that can be best described as a semi-real life reinterpretation of the Command & Conquer: Red Alert Series. This is in no small part due to how it aims to incorporate actual military hardware (from the 1960's to the late 2000's) while maintaining a lot Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge aspects like Prism Tanks, Tesla tech, etc. In addition, it expands on the original RA2 armor system thanks to ARES, in which it creates more roles to create numerous units effectively expanding the complexity of handling an army making it necessary to use mixed arms to counter the various unit types.

While the mod has not yet been released, progress on it can be found here.

Has no relation to Counter-Strike.

This game provides examples of:

  • Action Girl:
    • The Allied TANYA Operatives and the Soviet LYUDMILA Operatives.
    • F-16 and the MFV-91 Conquistadora are operated by female pilots.
  • Adaptation Name Change:
    • Yuri's Army is still in the mod, only this time renamed and retooled as Sigma's Armed Forces, or Sigma for short.
    • Some units from vanilla RA2 got renamed in the mod to match the redesigns: LAV-25 Piranha (from IFV), T-77A Tesla tank (Tesla Tank), etc.
  • Adaptational Modesty: Tanya (or, rather, the codename of TANYA) is now given a practical combat uniform, as opposed to her Stripperific outfit that she wears in both the original and Mental Omega (unless she is in a snowy environment).
  • A.K.A.-47: Largely averted. Many of the real life weapons and vehicles depicted use their actual designation, alongside their in-game monikers.
  • Army of Thieves and Whores: Sigma's Field Army subfaction, comprising the main bulk of Yuri's forces, is a hodgepodge of renegade militias, mercenaries, and the dredges of society serving as his Cannon Fodder.
  • Demoted to Extra: The Allied Harrier can be obtained by capturing the Tech Helipad.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Downplayed. In the mod's version of events, Einstein's efforts didn't prevent a familiar World War Two as we know it from happening, though it takes a different path from OTL.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Sigma's Cobra Corps and Field Army subfactions, which in-universe form the largest proportion of Yuri's forces, call to mind different aspects of the Global Liberation Army. Namely, their penchant for subversive hit-and-run tactics, and cheap third-world hardware respectively.
    • Sigma in general, meanwhile, has echoes of the Brotherhood of Nod, given how the faction as a whole is presented as having throngs of comparatively disposable low-tier forces masking a far more insidious and elite military powerhouse.
  • Stupid Jetpack Hitler: The bulk of Sigma's more elite core is all but stated to be descended from Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS units which utilize upgraded versions of not only old World War Two hardware, but also experimental Nazi research that never made it into mass production in real life.
  • Tuxedo and Martini: The Allied XX-7 Agent which comes with his personal vehicle called the Vanquish.
