An upcoming project by Cruelty Squad creator Ville Callio, published under their studio Consumer Softproducts. The game's Steam page describes it as an "FPS/mecha hybrid europolice sim set in the decayed state of Pan-Europa."
Several components of Ville's previous works have been carried over, including its art style, Immersive Sim-influenced game mechanics, and cynical worldbuilding, but is much more ambitious with the presence of a non-linear open world, expanded NPC interactions, and the V-Stalker mecha units.
The game's Steam page can be previewed here.
Psycho Patrol R provides examples of the following tropes:
- Stylistic Suck: While lacking the Sensory Abuse of Cruelty Squad, PPR still maintains the low-fidelity models and textures of Playstation 1-era games, with equally unsettling NPCs.
- Take That!: The emblem of the game's European Federal Police is the same as The European Union's flag with the addition of a x-rayed human skull in the center.
- Thought Crime: Part of the jurisdiction of the titular Psycho Patrol, under the umbrella of 'mental crime'.
- Walking Tank: The player's V-Stalker mecha unit, which can be customized to better fit their preferred approach to combat.
