Created by Marutoku Kichi, Paradise Destroyed (楽園破壊, Rakuen Hakai) is an RPG created with RPG Maker VX Ace that was released on December 13, 2018. The game centers around Cai and Bel Kaneiki, two brothers with supernatural abilities who are notorious thieves. Once they are caught, they are sent to a realm known as Paradise and must make their way through the worlds there, trying to figure out how to escape and return home.

Paradise Destroyed contains examples of:

  • 100% Completion: If you complete every subquest, the list in the Mysterious Fanboy's room displays 100%. This has no effect on the endings or anything else in the game.
  • As You Know: Cai: “Bel, how about we review the information about the treasure we’re about to steal again?”
  • Black-and-Gray Morality: God, the main antagonist, is a celestial being who slams a meteorite into Earth, kidnaps a child and turns them into a living vessel, and creates a world dedicated to absorbing the energy of living beings until they die, all for the sake of revenge... But Cai, the protagonist, has over a thousand thievery and violence charges on his head.
  • Blinded by the Light: Bel uses his ability to blind the officers when escaping with the pearl, and Cai uses a flash-bang to escape with Bel after losing to Mimimi.
  • Boss-Altering Consequence: Using the special skills Betrayal or Fake during Mimimi’s boss fight causes her to lash out and become unable to use her song-related skills. The order in which you defeat Rimm and Will changes how the other will fight for the rest of the battle. Whether you choose to Call or Destroy Bel and Butterfly alters both the battles themselves and the following story events.
  • Boss Banter: In two flavors. Bosses will sometimes respond to specific skills you use in battle (Mimimi), or begin battles with their own statements (God). Some bosses also specifically revolve around conversation (Bel and Butterfly).
  • Cain and Abel: Referenced literally, as Cai and Bel are named after Cain and Abel, but subverted because Cai, instead of wanting to kill Bel for his own benefit, would do anything to make sure that Bel is happy.
  • Cartoon Meat: Manga meat is served at the cafe in the 1st Anniversary Bonus Game.
  • Character Level: Starts at 1, ends at 50.
  • Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: A core part of the battle system in the game. Each character is either Red, Blue, Yellow, or Green, and this decides their strengths and weaknesses. In battle, they also display a blue or pink aura to show whether they are categorically an Action or Word esper.
  • Conveniently an Orphan: Cai and Bel. Their parents die suddenly for unknown reasons, and instead of being taken in by someone else, the two of them live in an abandoned cabin in the woods. This puts them in a perfect position to be master thieves without any family ties to stop them.
  • Crossover Cameo: The idol group the Mysterious Fanboy is obsessed with, WHITE★knight, is made up of Aki Maeno and Fuyu Ushirono from one of the creator’s previous games, ZENO.
  • Easy Amnesia: Butterfly has complete amnesia, conveniently forgetting his role in relation to God. Cai and Bel, however, have their own missing memories as well, forgetting their entire childhoods and what their relationship was prior to adulthood. Cai’s duty to be an older brother also overrides his duty to destroy, which erases his prior memories of God.
  • Elemental Powers: Each generic Action skill correlates to an element, with Red incorporating fire, Blue having ice, Yellow having electricity, and Green having wind.
  • Falling into His Arms: Cai can survive a jump from a four-story building, but Bel can’t. Cai encourages Bel to jump anyway, easily catching him in a Bridal Carry on the ground.
  • Family Theme Naming: There are three sets of brothers named with a focus on literature. Cai and Bel are named after Cain and Abel, Rimm and Wil’s names are derived from the Brothers Grimm, and Jeky and Hy are named after Jekyll and Hyde.
  • Flashback Effects: Flashbacks are always seen in sepia.
  • Golden Ending: The unlisted secret ending, sometimes officially called the Opportunistic End. You have to fight a boss near the end of the bonus dungeon that is extremely difficult even at maximum level, but if you win, you can see a scene where Original!Cai is able to live with Bel on Earth again.
  • Gray Rain of Depression: When Cai is sent back to Earth without Bel, he slowly walks through the rain as he returns to their old house.
  • I'm Standing Right Here: Bel often turns to his brother to suggest that they cause Butterfly to befall some kind of misfortune, ignoring the fact that Butterfly is there as well.
  • Lazy Backup: In the bonus dungeon, the whole group heads into each door, but only 4 can be in your party and actively fighting at a time.
  • Lotus-Eater Machine: The boss of the 1st Anniversary Bonus Game is a living drug who believes that everyone should fall asleep and live within their happiest memories forever. Cai and Bel succumb to this, but Cai is able to break through the illusion and take the boss down.
  • Love Hotels: Present in the World of Idols and the 1st Anniversary Bonus Game. Cai and Wil, not understanding the significance behind them, treat them like regular inns, much to Bel’s chagrin.
  • Ludicrous Gibs: The depths of the facility once Rimm murders the adults present.
  • Mana Drain: Butterfly and Wil can learn the skill MP Drain.
  • Mass Resurrection: In the bonus dungeon, all the world creators Cai previously killed come back to life and join the party.
  • Mass Super-Empowering Event: A meteorite struck Earth, causing a selective outbreak of supernatural abilities all across the world.
  • Meaningful Rename: Mimimi and Temple. Mimimi’s original name was Misaki, but an idol she admires was named Mimimi, so she took her name. Temple’s original name was Jim, and it’s unknown exactly why he changed it, though it fits his theme of a place of religious belonging. In endings where they return to Earth, Mimimi keeps her rename, but Temple returns to being called Jim.
  • Metallicar Syndrome: Cai and Bel are wanted for committing hundreds of crimes, but their chosen method of transport is a bright purple car with an open roof.
  • Multiple Endings: The game has 8 endings for the main story, and 3 more (+ 1 unlisted) endings in the bonus dungeon.
  • Mysterious Watcher: After Cai and Bel have a chat at night in the village in the World of Siblings, the screen shifts to reveal that one of the children living there was watching them the whole time.
  • No Name Given: Captain and Trainer are known exclusively by titles rather than their actual names. It is unknown if God and the other immortal beings present in the work have names or if their species as a whole has No Need for Names.
  • Non-Governmental Organization: The World Esper Organization, an organization that works with governments and law enforcement worldwide to manage the problems caused by the appearance of espers on Earth.
  • Non-Lethal K.O.: If a character becomes unable to battle, it is temporary. They can be revived using a skill or via a stay at an inn.
  • Siblings in Crime: Cai and Bel Kaneiki, brothers and notorious thieves.
  • The Lost Woods: The forest in the World of Siblings has plenty of dead ends that will have you wandering about more than you would like.
  • The Power of Family: When God questions how they were able to be beaten, Cai, Bel, and in some circumstances Butterfly point to the answer being the deep familial relationship and trust they have with each other.
  • Town with a Dark Secret: Rimm protects the World of Siblings by turning everyone he deems a threat into "dogs," but Cai and Bel only learn this later.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: A common reason for people to become espers following the meteorite’s fall.
  • Under the Sea: In the bonus dungeon. For some reason, all the worlds belonging to the revived world creators have gained a blue color scheme and bubbles periodically floating up, despite none of their worlds having a connection to water before.
  • Wait Here: Cai tells Bel to stay behind while he and Butterfly go to defeat Temple. Cai just wants him to be safe, but Bel, thinking he’s been abandoned, attempts suicide instead.
  • Wall of Text: If you decide to listen to the shopkeeper recite Monkey Submarine’s history to you in the 1st Anniversary Bonus Game, be ready for an earful.
  • Was Once a Man: All the "dogs" in the World of Siblings were once adults who Rimm deemed too dangerous to allow to live as humans. They look less like dogs and more like deformed, quadrupedal humans.
