ZENO Remake リメイク版

Created by marutoku, ZENO is a psychological horror game created with RPG Maker VX and released January 5th 2021. The game follows two men who found themselves waking up in the same room together with no memories on who they are or how they got there. Forced to handcuff one another in order to leave, medical genius Maeno Aki and serial killer Tsugino Haru, must work together to escape the strange facility they found themselves in.

This game is a remake of the original created in 2015. With upgraded graphics, story and a total of 15 endings.

ZENO contains examples of:

  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: You switch perspectives between Haru and Aki. Obtaining one of the true endings can give you the option to play as Fuyu.
  • Animal Motif: Aki with bears, Fuyu and Natsu with rabbits.
  • Anti-Frustration Feature: At the beginning of the game, you have the option to have no blood or to only have one chase scene.
  • Apocalyptic Log: Throughout the game, there are messages scattered across the facility. Most of which containing logs of peoples thoughts before the events of the story.
  • Awful Truth: When it's revealed on how Haru got ZENO.
  • Bloody Horror: There's a copious amount of blood splattered all over the game.
  • Cannibalism Superpower: Contracting ZENO have showed symptoms of super human strength and durability.
  • Dead Person Conversation: Fuyu gets the opportunity to speak to his sister one last time.
  • Find the Cure!: Fuyu's and Aki's main motivation to work together.
  • I Choose to Stay: Aki's decision when he had the potential to escape without Haru.
  • Multiple Endings: The game has 15 different endings.
  • One Head Taller: It's easy to see how short Aki is when compared to Haru and Fuyu.
  • Ominous Visual Glitch: In the sin route.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Fuyu believes that Aki ate Natsu on purpose, when in truth he was forced to. Fuyu tries to kill him because of this.
  • Searching the Stalls: There's a scene where the characters have to hide in the bathroom stall from a perpetrator.
  • The Virus: The main plot point and conflict.
  • Transferable Memory: Quite literally when Fuyu swaps Haru and Haru's memories with the memory control device.
  • You Wake Up in a Room: The main characters wake up in a locked room with no memory as to how they got there.
