Mitsu Story: The Forgotten Odyssey is an RPG Maker game made by ResrirDark00, making another addition to the surprisingly large number of bondage-themed RPG Maker games.

The story centers around the titular protagonist, Mitsu Farria, 23 year old treasure hunter (or as she calls herself, a treasure seeker) in a fantasy setting, the Boundless Province. Mitsu has been a solo adventurer for nearly a year but her bad luck and goofy nature means she suffers from a series of mishaps. One day, Mitsu stumbles across a mysterious relic that she thinks is a priceless treasure, but said relic appears to be much more than a treasure. She soon finds herself being targeted by two mysterious factions who are after the relic. The young treasure hunter sets out to uncover the relic's secret while evading the pursuing factions.

More info can be found at ResrirDark00's DeviantArt page.

Tropes for this game include:

  • Action Prologue: The game starts off with Mitsu in the middle of a mission.
  • Author Appeal: Gee, ya think the guy has a bit of a bondage fetish?
  • Bound and Gagged: A lot of the characters, mostly the girls.
  • Hard Mode Perks: You can unlock the bonus endings easier on the harder difficulties as well as earn more money and EXP on the hardest.
  • Idiosyncratic Difficulty Levels: "Novice", "Standard", "Archaic" and "Masochist!". Yes, with an exclamation mark.
  • Inexplicable Treasure Chests: The first forest alone has a number of these.
  • One Stat to Rule Them All: Speed, which determines how many actions you get per turn.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Mozer, the vendor you encounter in one sidequest, has this. He means well, but his vague phrasing and poor word choice makes him come off as a creepy drug dealer than a potion vendor. Mitsu also points out he has a laugh like a serial killer. Mitsu ends up having to teach him how to be more approachable.
  • Rare Candy: Boost items can be found or earn that increase each type of stat.
  • Something That Begins with "Boring": Mitsu and Cindy engage in this while killing time in Chapter 1.
Cindy: I spy with my little eyes-
    Mitsu: Tree.
Cindy: Again? Wow, Mitsu. You're a natural!
Mitsu: Gee, thanks. I wonder why. Oh right. That's all you spy!
  • Tactical Rock–Paper–Scissors: Weapons are classified by three types: Speed, Power and Technique. Each is strong to one and vulnerable to another.
  • Victory Quote: One of your party members will make a quip post-battle.

Mitsu - Difficulty Levels

After starting a new game, you can pick the difficulty setting of Mitsu Story. Each level comes with a description of what to expect. Instead of the standard "Easy, Normal, Hard", it comes in "Novice, Standard, Archaic, Masochist".

How well does it match the trope?
