Thus MEZZAVITA (literally Half-Life written in Italian) was born.
MEZZAVITA is an interesting Game Mod which acts as a double Spiritual Sequel to both Crack-Life and Grezzo 2, by keeping most of what the former mod originally included (like the weapons and some of the humor) but also going for the latter path and changing everything to now be oriented about Italian culture with its stereotypes, trash culture and characters, and VTubers as well, for some reasons. Some of the outdated memes are replaced with much modern ones, also being from Italian culture.
The story sees protagonist Giordano Liberuomo (which name is Gordon Freeman but Italianized) that is hired to work at Negra Mesa, a place which only fat female scientists and guards of color seems to work. The story is very similar to the original, albeit now Played for Laughs and utilizing an Excuse Plot to make the whole thing move forward.
The game was released in 2022 (doubling as a Meaningful Release Date due to also being the 10th anniversary of Crack-Life), and the creator stated some plans in a Q&A to make a sort of multiverse out of this mod, albeit they will be less memetic and much more serious compared to MEZZAVITA edgy and goofy humor.

The mod shows examples of:
- Foreign Remake: Due to being an Italianized version of Crack-Life, any English related memes (including the outdated ones) have been replaced in favor of new, Italian ones. Some exceptions such as the Gentlecrabs, the Penis gun, and memes like "SPARTA!" and "Do you suck dicks?" are still in the game, but their audios have been replaced with their Italian counterparts to fit better.
- The Zombie headcrab is now the late Richard Benson, an iconic trash figure who became famous over the years for his extreme and somewhat egotistic nature for being, in his own words, "the last real metal guitarist". In this game he will say most of his iconic lines that made him a meme, and when getting hit he will scream.
- Another enemy has been replaced with Solaire from Dark Souls, with his voicelines taken from ThePruld, an inspiring Italian voice actor and Machinima animator known for work related to that franchise.
- The turrets now have the voice of the infamous "Omino dell'ergastolo" from the Italian Loquendo community. Context
- Every kill will play some lines from Paperissima, an Italian comedy show aimed to show people getting hurt or errors from popular tv shows owned by Mediaset.
