Beware the man with the hook...

Left in the Dark: No One on Board is a Hidden Object Game developed by Moonrise Interactive and published by Artifex Mundi.

A private detective is contacted by the mayor of Port Providence to solve a baffling case: a ship that was lost at sea reappeared weeks later, but no sign of the crew or cargo could be found. As the detective takes on the case, she comes to suspect there's more going on than the mayor is telling her and there are rumors about a curse. Not helping matters is the recurring appearance of a figure with a hook stalking around the port...

Left in the Dark uncovered these examples:

  • Connected All Along: The harbormaster is actually Isabella's brother, James Erington. He not only perpetuated the supposed curse affecting Port Providence, but he was the one responsible for Isabella's death.
  • Disney Villain Death: James falls seemingly to his death after losing his grip, though Madam Detective didn't see a splash in the water where he would've landed.
  • Distressed Dude: Detective MacKenzie, who has been captured by the Hookman.
  • Drowning Pit: Madam Detective finds herself trapped in one and has to act quickly to break out.
  • Friendly Ghost: The ghost of a young girl, Isabella, who tries to warn Madam Detective of danger but is otherwise friendly to her.
  • Ghost Ship: Madam Detective starts the story with investigating the empty ship for clues to the fate of the crew. Turns out, it's not as abandoned when she discovers dead sailors.
  • He Knows Too Much: James, as the Hookman, had no intentions of allowing Madam Detective to uncover behind the ghost ships and the curse.
  • Kill It with Fire: The tragic fate of Isabella and her parents decades ago.
  • Lighthouse Point: The lighthouse serves as the location where Madam Detective saves the Detective MacKenzie and confronts the Hookman once and for all.
  • Private Detective: The protagonist is a private detective called on to crack the case.
    • She finds out there was another detective, Noah MacKenzie, who investigated the ghost ships a decade ago but wasn't heard from afterwards.
  • The End... Or Is It?: With the mystery of the ghost ship and Isabella's death solved, and Detective MacKenzie rescued from a terrible fate, everything seems to be looking up. But then, a hook comes out from the newspaper and the Hookman shows up...
