The JumpStart 3D Virtual World series is a sub-series of games in the JumpStart franchise. Originally the games were titled JumpStart World, then JumpStart World of Learning, before finally settling on the current naming. The games in the series are as follows:

  • JumpStart 3D Virtual World: The Legend of Grizzly McGuffin (2007) is the kindergarten entry, and centers around the player earning Scout Badges while trying to uncover the identity of Grizzly McGuffin, who was formerly the only one to have earned every Scout Badge.
  • JumpStart 3D Virtual World: Trouble in Town (2007) is the first grade entry in which the player must figure out the identity of a mysterious troublemaker in JumpStart Town.
  • JumpStart 3D Virtual World: Quest for the Color Meister (2007) is the second grade entry, which revolves around a mysterious figure called the Color Meister, who is stealing color from various areas of the JumpStart world.
  • JumpStart 3D Virtual World: My First Adventure (2008) is the preschool entry, which is largely detached from the other games and features no main overarching story.

While all of the games in the series feature similar gameplay and recurring characters and locations, they nonetheless each have unique stories, dialogue, and tasks for the player to complete. In addition, they have many unique characteristics as far as JumpStart games go, such as having the characters change appearances with different grade levels, giving the sense that they are growing along with the player. These games are also notable for being the first JumpStart games to offer free exploration of 3D environments, as many previous games only utilized prerendered 3D graphics.

The series provides examples of:

  • Anti-Frustration Features: One of the mini-games involves playing hide-and-seek with Hops, during which you are not allowed to use the map. Hops will start by giving you clues as to where he is hiding, but if you keep clicking on the help button over and over, he'll eventually just straight-up tell you where he's hiding.
  • Crossdressing Voices: CJ is voiced by Cassandra Lee Morris.
  • Fetch Quest: A lot of the in-game tasks revolve around obtaining items and bringing them to various characters.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Kisha is characterized as the fastest runner in camp, and many bits of dialogue and text reinforce that she trains hard and often wins in races. However, during the minigames where the player races with her, she runs at about half the speed that the player can, making it an absolute cakewalk to win against her.
  • Given Name Reveal: In Quest for the Color Meister, the Color Meister's real name is revealed as Stanley later on in the game.
  • Good All Along: In Quest for the Color Meister, the Color Meister, who is set up as a villain, is revealed to be a well-meaning guy who just wants to bring color back to his homeland.
  • Magic Music: Pierre possesses a magic flute in these games that can reveal buried objects when close to them.
  • The Reveal: In The Legend of Grizzly McGuffin, the aforementioned character turns out to be the Zippy Mart shopkeeper, whose real identity isn't revealed until near the end of the game.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Kisha and Eleanor respectively.
  • You All Look Familiar: In Trouble in Town, the citizens of JumpStart Town look nearly identical to Coach Bailey, Trixie, Zuzu and Cappy as they use the same character models. The only unique character is Nigel the penguin; owner of the town's museum.
