"You can't just run away from your problems, Indiana."
"Watch me."

"Myths. History. Just different ways to interpret the past. Thousands of years of humanity's thoughts and beliefs, scattered and buried. Just waiting to be found..."
Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a single-player first-person action-adventure game developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda. It is the first Indiana Jones video game since 2011's now-defunct Indiana Jones Adventure World, and stars Troy Baker as the titular protagonist (with Harrison Ford's likeness in-game).

Set in 1937 between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones travels across the globe after a break-in at Marshall College sends him on a journey to uncover the secret behind a seemingly unimportant artifact, all while finding help in new alliances and facing down familiar foes.

The game is set to release sometime in 2024 for Xbox Series X|S and Microsoft Windows via Steam.

Trailers: Game Teaser Trailer, Official Gameplay Reveal

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle contains examples of:

  • Badass in Distress: The first thing we see of Indy in the reveal trailer is him buried in the African desert sand by Nazis except for his head, neck, shoulders, and right hand. He still has enough movement to headbutt Emmerich Voss, though.
  • Deuteragonist: During the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 presentation, Gina Lombardi is described as the other main character to the game and has a personal stake in Indy's quest.
  • Interquel: According to the Official Gameplay Reveal, the game takes place sometime between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
  • Melee Disarming: In the trailer Indy can use his whip to disarm enemies with a strike to the hand, temporarily stunning them as well.
  • Stock Scream: When Jones trips an enemy soldier in the trailer, the Wilhelm Scream plays.
  • Talk to the Fist: Technically, Indy is buried in sand and thus doesn't have access to his fists, but his response to Emmerich Voss' attempt at a Breaking Speech is to headbutt him.
  • Utility Weapon: In addition to combat, the whip can be used to swing across large gaps or slide down other ropes and ziplines as shown in the trailer.

"Patron of the fallen angels, protector of the... Curculi Magni... The Great Circle."
