When Gensokyo is burning, who shall you side with?

Gensokyo Warfare: The Castiron Flame (previously known as Touhou: Tinder) is a modification of Mount & Blade: Warband created by Touhou fans from all over the world. It allows players to immerse themsleves in a fantastical world of Gensokyo, raise massive armies, marry their favorite girl and conquer the entirety of the "Land of Illusion" in a sandbox-style gameplay known from Warband. Campaign and Multiplayer modes are also supported.

The mod can be found on Steam, Nexus and ModDB.

This modification provides examples of:

  • Authority Equals Asskicking: Majority of faction leaders and vassals are powerful youkai, so they are way above the others when it comes to strength and agility (Even though the magical power has been slowly disappearing and spell cards rules are no longer followed).
  • Badass Preacher: Half of the faction leaders, as well as some vassals, are religious leaders – Goddesses, Shrine Maidens, Hermits or Monks.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Some faction leaders and vassals, especially those who also happen to be goddesses, are severely overpowered and can easily turn the tide of battle. One-on-one with them usually ends poorly.
  • Church Militant: Hakurei Shrine troops consist of Shrine Maidens, while Myouren Temple have Warrior Monks.
  • Everything's Deader with Zombies : Senkai has Zombie troops, usually lead by either Seiga or Yoshika.
  • Evil Counterpart: Claimants are usually evil versions of leaders or lords of the factions (Devil Byakuren, Flandre Noire, Id Koishi etc.)
  • Fantastic Racism: Humans are distrustful of youkai, while youkai feel superior to humans. For example, in the Storymode, if the Player chose to be a human, 'Haughty Noble' will express her unflattering opinion about humans.
  • Humans Are Divided: Humans in Gensokyo live in many factions. The Human Village is divided into 4 parts, controlled by 3 factions at the beginning of the game. Factions with humans include Hakurei Faction, Moriya Faction, Myouren Faction and Senkai. Humans can also be found in Scarlet Devil Faction, although they are usually servants and maids.
  • Lady Land : Gensokyo's population consist predominantly of females. All rulers and companions, as well as almost all vassals are women. Playable character is a girl by default.
  • Mordor: The Underworld is this.
  • Necromancer: After a zombie unit kills another unit (aside from a zombie, ghost, or vampire), the unit’s death location will spawn a new zombie.
  • No Name Given: Daitengu – one of the Moriya Shrine vassals, is known only as Daitengu, which isn't her personal name, but the name of her race.
  • The Magic Goes Away: Decline of magic is the event that caused the creation of factions and sparked the War in Gensokyo. It's also an in-game explanation for the lack of danmaku duels in the game.
  • 20 Minutes into the Future : The mod's beginning year is 2025
  • Warrior Monk: Myouren Temple is a faction of Buddhists, and as such, their troops consist of warrior monks.
