Are you ready for handheld Freddy?

Five Nights At Freddy's - Pocket Horror is a Five Nights at Freddy's fangame made in Java. It shows what the original Five Nights at Freddy's could have looked like on the Game Boy or the Game Boy Color. As usual you have to watch the monitor and close the doors when necessary, though some aspects are simplified to fit the limitations of the handheld it could run on alongside some other changes.

This game provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Normally Freddy would only attack you upon running out of power at first and only become truly active on Night 3. Here he's gunning for you starting from Night 1.
  • Easter Egg: There is a chance the picture of Freddy in the office will instead show the Puppet crying.
  • Game-Over Man: The game over screen only shows Freddy with blue eyes.
  • Green Boy Color: One of the palettes is the typical Greenscale from the Game Boy.
  • Jump Scare: As expected in a FNAF fangame, an animatronic jumpscares you when you die. Here it's just a static picture of their head with a crashing sound.
  • Password Save: At the end of the night, you're shown a five-character password that lets you continue from it.
  • Video Game Demake: The game remakes the first FNAF as how it could look on the Game Boy Color, with a lower resolution, a simpler color palette, and much more simplistic sounds.
