Friendship is Magic, but not so much here...

Elements Of Insanity is a Friday Night Funkin' mod that crosses over with different horror-themed fanworks of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. In this mod, Boyfriend rap battles with the villainous counterparts of the Mane 6, at the risk of his and Girlfriend's lives.

Currently, the mod is a demo mainly featuring two fan-works: Cupcakes (Sergeant Sprinkles) and PONY.MOV.

Not to be confused with the G-Mod Freaks of the same name, which were created by machinima animator TheInvertedShadow.

Song List:

Story Mode:

  1. Cupcakes (Cupcakes Pinkie Pie)
  2. Shed (PONY.MOV Fluttershy)

Bonus Songs:

  1. Eye Candy (Friendship is Witchcraft Pinkie Pie)
  2. Discord (The Living Tombstone)

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Species Change: Boyfriend and Girlfriend are Earth ponies in the mod, likely to have them fit the setting of "Friendship is Magic" more.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Girlfriend gets killed by Pinkie Pie in "Cupcakes", although this is justified because she's an Earth pony instead of a demon like in the original "Friday Night Funkin'", meaning she's just as mortal as everyone else.
  • Art Shift: Each song so far has a unique art style to it.
    • "Cupcakes" (or at least, Pinkie herself) uses MisterDavey's style.
    • "Shed" emulates HotDiggityDemon's.
    • "Eye Candy" uses FiM's style, due to taking place in an Abridged Series of the original show.
  • Ax-Crazy: Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, as these aren't the same lovable ponies from the original "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic", but rather their depictions in "Cupcakes" and "PONY.MOV", both of which turn them into ravenous serial killers.
  • The Bad Guy Wins:
    • Pinkie Pie successfully kills Girlfriend in the middle of "Cupcakes", rendering Boyfriend's attempt to save her moot, before knocking him out with a mallet at the end of the song.
    • Fluttershy successfully murders Boyfriend at the end of "Shed", though at least Girlfriend seems to have gotten away, as evidenced by the broken window, and the police caught up to Fluttershy as well.
  • The Cameo:
    • Rainbow Dash is in the foreground of "Cupcakes" observing the rap battle in complete horror.
    • Apple Bloom is present in "Eye Candy", standing in the middle and staring into the player's soul whilst Pinkie Pie and Boyfriend rap.
  • Chainsaw Good: Both Pinkie and Fluttershy wield chainsaws, and they aren't just for show. See The Bad Guy Wins for more info.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Boyfriend and Girlfriend's Cutie Marks are a microphone and a speaker, respectively, matching their associated sound equipment.
    • Rainbow Dash is the latest of Pinkie's victims in the original "Cupcakes" fanfic, and she's present in the foreground of the song, having already been kidnapped by the pink pony.
    • At the end of "Cupcakes", Pinkie pulls out a mallet and swings it at Boyfriend. She uses a mallet on Rainbow Dash in the original fanfic.
    • Fluttershy's lines in "Shed" are ripped directly from the original "PONY.MOV" series, as is the arrival of the police at the end of the song.
    • While Boyfriend dies at the end of "Shed", Girlfriend is nowhere to be seen and the window is broken, implying she jumped out like Spike and Pinkie in the original.
    • The freeplay song "Eye Candy" is based off of "Pinkie's Brew" and "Gypsy Bard" from Friendship is Witchcraft. Apple Bloom is present during the song, in reference to "Pinkie's Brew" being sung by her and Pinkie.
