"Is it even in?"
Deepest Sword is a physics platformer developed by Cosmic Adventure Squad. It was originally a project created in 72 hours for "Ludum Dare 48 Jam", which had the theme "deeper and deeper", with an improved version integrating key rebinding and achievements released in June 2021.

You're a knight on a quest to slay the dragon who abducted your cat! Unfortunately, your blade might not be long enough to penetrate its heart... Each level has you wielding an increasingly lengthy sword in an attempt at slaying the foul beast, but you'll also have to learn how to use such size, as your blade may prove to be as much of an obstacle as it is an asset in the cave's cramped corridors.

Tropes:

  • Achievement System: The Steam version adds achievements for clearing each stage of the game, as well as for beating the whole game in under a strict time frame, and a few secret achievements.note
  • BFS: Your starting sword is half the size of (but just as wide as) the protagonist, and it's eventually reforged into the titular "Deepest Sword", which is roughly three times the size of the protagonist.
  • Bilingual Bonus: Combined with A Dog Named "Dog", as the dragon's name is Long. "Long" is Chinese for "dragon".
  • Damsel in Distress: Your motivation for defeating the dragon is rescuing your imprisoned... cat.
  • Death Is a Slap on the Wrist: Every time you reach the dragon with an inadequate sword, you're roasted by its fire breath, and are warped back to start with a larger blade.
  • Disapproving Look: Long the dragon is suitably unimpressed by your first attempt to plunge your tiny blade into her.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: The whole game is basically a joke about penis size. The dragon mocks your sword's length, until you finally obtain the Deepest Sword which can penetrate all the way to its heart.
  • Double Entendre:
    • The dragon's derogatory comments on your sword's size, as well as her reaction when it's finally long enough to pierce her heart, is clearly referencing Bigger Is Better in Bed.
    • Your attempts to wriggle your sword into her can be summed up as Hot Skitty-on-Wailord Action.
    • Upon being rescued, your cat will exclaim "You came for me!"
  • Double Meaning: The "Cavern of Longing", as your sword gets longer in order to navigate an increasingly longer path to reach a dragon longing for a decent opponent.
  • Excuse Plot: You are tasked with trying to slay the dragon with an increasingly large blade to rescue your cat. Doesn't get much deeper than this.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: When your sword becomes the "Deepest Sword", it transforms from iron to gold.
  • Kaiju: Long the dragon is massive and in the treasure hoard takes up an entire level area by herself.
  • Phallic Weapon: Your sword is obviously meant to be a phallic symbol, using its ever-growing length to penetrate your opponent deeper and deeper.
  • Remixed Level: Every time your sword is reforged to be larger, a new platforming section is added between you and the dragon. And because of your sword's new size, you might need to take a different path to get through the earlier sections.
  • Shout-Out: One of the secret achievements is labeled "Getting... Over It".
  • Some Dexterity Required: You're unable to jump, so similarly to the hammer in Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, you have to swing your sword around to reach platforms. It quickly becomes so large that it's impossible to simply drag it behind you, and you have to constantly pivot it around.
  • Stealth Pun: An unspoken Double Entendre in a game full of them is that your reason for "slaying" the dragon is "getting some pussy"... cat.
  • Title Drop: The "Deepest Sword" is what your sword becomes when it reaches its maximum length.
