A Licensed Game based on Disney's 1991 animated feature film, Beauty and the Beast, developed by Left Field Productions and published by Disney Interactive Studios for the Game Boy Color in 1999. This game is one of the black GBC cartridges, making it backwards compatible with the original Game Boy and the Super Game Boy adapter for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, albeit with a reduced color palette.

Gaston has convinced the villagers of France that Beast is a vicious monster out to destroy them, so he leads a mob to storm Beast's castle, and locks Belle in her father's cellar so she can't stop him. Fortunately for Belle, Chip has followed her back to her house, and uses Maurice's wood-chopping invention to break open the door and set Belle free. Now, Belle has to get to Beast's castle before Gaston does so she can warn Beast of Gaston and the villagers.

This game is a party game where Gaston and Belle take turns rolling a die and moving the allotted number of spaces across the board. When Belle lands on a space with a character's face on it, she gets to play a mini-game. The better she does in the mini-game, the more spaces will be added to her roll of the die on her next turn. The goal of the game is for Belle to get to the end of the board before Gaston so she can warn Beast and save him from Gaston and the villagers.

In Multiplayer Mode, up to four players can play by passing the GBC around when it's their turn. Belle, Beast, Lumiere, and Mrs. Potts all take turns moving across the board, and the player who reaches the goal first wins. New boards are unlocked when certain conditions in Story Mode are met.

This game provides examples of:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: Many of the mini-games have alliterative names, such as "Beast's Battle", "Crazy Chopper", "Lumiere's Leaks", "Poochy Paw Prints", and even "Mrs. Pott's Peril".
  • Alternate Monochrome Version: As this game is one of the black GBC cartridges, it has an alternate monochrome palette so that it can be played on the original Game Boy and the Super Game Boy adapter.
  • Bear Trap: In the "Belle's Ride" mini-game, this is one of the hazards that Belle and Philippe will need to jump over to avoid losing health.
  • Big Bad: Gaston, as in the movie. He is trying to get to Beast's castle before Belle so he and the mob can kill Beast.
  • Bonus Round: Collecting three stars will take you to the "Gaston's Spittoons" bonus mini-game. Press the A button at the right time to make Gaston spit. If Gaston misses, your reward is two extra spaces added to your roll of the die. If he spits into a normal spittoon, a horseshoe will be added to your roll of the die for several turns, allowing you to move two extra spaces on those turns, and if he spits into the spittoon with a star on it, you will get to roll again.
  • Border-Occupying Decorations: Playing on the Super Game Boy gives the game a border of the castle walls and roses.
  • Evil Living Flames: In the "Mrs. Pott's Peril" mini-game, Chef Bouche creates these kind of flames, which can burn down the items on the shelf of his kitchen if not put out. Mrs. Potts must pour water on them to put them out, with bigger ones needing several water drops. Mrs. Potts also has to mind her water supply, but can refill it by standing under a pump. If a flame destroys a gunpowder barrel, it will explode and end the mini-game.
  • Game-Over Man: If Gaston gets to Beast's castle before Belle does, then a sad Beast will appear on the Game Over screen.
  • Gameplay Roulette: If you land on a Magic Mirror space, the Magic Mirror will pick a mini-game at random.
  • Hold Up Your Score: In the "Gaston's Spittoons" bonus mini-game, if Gaston successfully spits into one of the spittoons, the villagers will hold up score cards with the number 10 on them.
  • It's a Wonderful Failure: If Gaston gets to Beast's castle before Belle does, then the last petal from the enchanted rose will fall, rendering Beast to remain a beast forever.
  • Leitmotif: In Multiplayer Mode, each character has one for when it's their turn to move across the board.
  • Press X to Not Die: In the "Beast's Battle" mini-game, Beast has to quickly press the right direction on the D-pad to dodge the wolves as they try to attack him, jumping over the low ones, ducking under the high ones, and punching the ones that come from either the left or right sides.
  • Rising Water, Rising Tension: In the "Lumiere's Leaks" mini-game, the pipes in the cellar are leaking and dripping water. Lumiere must use his flames to keep the water drops from falling onto the floor and flooding the cellar, but if too many water drops hit his flames at one time, they will put them out. If too many water drops fall onto the floor and the cellar is flooded, the mini-game is over. By completing the first two rounds, the water level will slowly drain.
  • Roll-and-Move: The player rolls a die to move across the board, and moves the allotted number of spaces. Any spaces that get added to or subtracted from the roll of the die depend on how well the player does in the mini-games. If the player loses at Stage 1, they will get one space subtracted from their roll, if they advance to Stage 2 but lose there, they will have one space added, if they advance to Stage 3 but lose there, they'll have two spaces added, and if they complete Stage 3, they'll have four spaces added. In the bonus mini-game, "Gaston's Spittoons", the bonus the player will get will depend on their performance. If Gaston misses, the reward is two extra spaces added to the roll of the die. If he spits into a normal spittoon, a horseshoe will be added to the roll of the die for several turns, allowing them to move two extra spaces on those turns, and if he spits into the spittoon with a star on it, they will get to roll again. In Story Mode, Gaston rolls the same number on every turn, and in order to win, Belle must roll higher than him to get to the Beast's Castle before him and win the game.
  • Rule of Three: Most mini-games have three rounds to complete if you want to go for the four-space bonus. The rounds get harder as the mini-games progress.
  • Savage Wolves: The wolves appear in two mini-games; "Belle's Ride" and "Beast's Battle". In the former, they are an obstacle that Belle and Phillipe need to jump over, and in the latter, Beast has to dodge them by jumping over them, ducking under them, or punching them.
  • Shell Game: In the "Where's Chip?" mini-game, Chip shuffles himself amongst his similar-looking brothers and sisters. Played with in that you have to find the right-looking cup, not what's underneath it.
  • Shooting Gallery: The "LeFou's Gallery" mini-game take's place in one. In this mini-game, you have to shoot all the good targets and avoid the bad ones within the time limit.
  • Shout-Out: In the "Cogsworth's Trivia" mini-game, one of the incorrect answers to the "Who placed a spell on the castle and its inhabitants?" question is "Tinker Bell".
  • "Simon Says" Mini-Game: In the "Poochy Paw Prints" mini-game, Sultan jumps on the upholstery, getting muddy paw prints on them. Fifi must clean the paw prints up by jumping on the upholstery in the same order that Sultan did.
  • Timed Mission: The "LeFou's Gallery" mini-game has a time limit, but shooting clock targets will add extra time.
  • Whammy: In Multiplayer Mode, the Gaston space causes something bad to happen to the player who lands on it, whether it be losing a turn, taking a number away from the number of spaces they're allowed to move, or trading places with the player in last place.
