Enter the house of horrors...

A House For Alesa is the first of a trilogy of Explorer Horror games by Axel Vejar Dossow, inspired by horror films of the 1980s.

Alesa had a bad encounter with Mr. Bob, a strange man with a cloak and top hat who appears to children with troubled home lives and offers to take them away. She resisted, and barely managed to escape from him. Years later, Alesa is called to investigate a mysterious family in a strange house. She ends up captured by the Mother, an old and hideously deformed woman, and locked in the basement with Greta, the family's daughter. Now Alesa has to escape the clutches of the family lest she become the Twins' next “pet”, and in the process discover ties to her past...

Two sequels, A House for Alesa 2 and A House for Alesa 3 were released that year.

This series contains examples of:

  • Big Bad: Mr. Bob is the demonic patriarch of the family that kidnaps Alesa and wants to keep her trapped in their house to torment.
  • Bittersweet Ending: In Ending F, Alesa successfully escapes the house and kills the murderous family, but this includes Greta, a Tragic Villain who she had genuinely befriended, but had to kill before she killed her, and she can potentially end up without her tongue.
  • Not Quite the Right Thing: Alesa can potentially save Greta from her abusive household and bring her to her house, befriending her, only for Greta's violent persona to take over and kill Alesa. If Alesa wants to leave the house alive, she will need to kill Greta.
