  • Actually Pretty Funny: Huge NFL fan, but will occasionally call the American football "Handegg" around British people because he finds it humorous.
  • Awesome, Dear Boy: Played a Zombie in Pro Wrestlers vs. Zombies. Up all night, freezing cold, no pay, hours of boredom, being away from his kids, and he doesn't even like Zombie movies. Why do it? Besides being in a movie at all, he got to meet and work with Roddy Piper, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Matt Hardy, and took a punch from Shane Douglas in the movie. He'd do it again in a heartbeat.
  • Badass Longhair: Subverted. Has long hair, but is hardly a badass.
  • Berserk Button: One of the relatively few cis males who can be deadnamed. Doing so, however, is very much not advised.
  • Bi The Way: Publicly came out as bisexual in October 2020.
  • Can't Hold His Liquor: One side-effect of rarely drinking is that when he does, it doesn't take much to get him drunk, especially considering his size. Oddly enough, he's actually proud of this, as many in his family gained tolerance with the opposite trope.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Dances at random in the middle of Wal-mart. Carries a sonic screwdriver with him everywhere he goes. Talks about subjects that many consider taboo. Listened to John Williams while working at a gas station. Openly admits to being a huge Power Rangers and Super Sentai fan. Worships Athena. Has a Pittsburgh Steelers facebook cover written with Gratuitous Japanese. Yeah... also...
    • The Cuckoolander Was Right: With a 9th grade education, tested in the top 1% in Social Studies, 2% in Science, and 3% in Reading/Writing Skills compared to high school seniors. Also answers most bible questions correctly despite being a non-Christian.
  • Cursed with Awesome: Doesn't react to poison ivy. Naturally, this means everyone wants him to pull their's.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": Despises his birth name with a passion. See also Berserk Button
    • Not as offensive as his birth name, but in formal contexts, his title is not "Mister", it's "Reverend"
    • Nomde Mom: His surname was changed in court to his mother's maiden name.
    • In a more minor example, even after his name change, using his first name may momentarily confuse him. He uses his middle name verbally, though signs his name with his first.
    • Incidentally, it was his brother mentioning the Do Not Call Me "Paul" trope that brought him to the site.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Type 1. If it's considered food, he'll try it at least once. Sushi, particularly Nigiri, has become his favorite food. And, of course, he's eaten Fish Finger and Custard. Hopes to travel to the UK and eat Haggis in Scotland, since it's unavailable in the US due to FDA regulations.
  • Game of Nerds: Pittsburgh Pirates fan, natch. Somewhat subverted in that he also likes Steelers & Midshipmen football, Penguins hockey, and Tottenham Hotspur football (soccer). Taken up to 88 with Nascar, as he absolutely loves the science behind race cars in addition to cheering Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Kyle Larson after Dale's retirement.
  • Goofy Print Underwear: Often wears Superman briefs when wearing a suit. Also wears Batman underwear during Steelers games.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: A fan of Super Sentai, so it happens on occasion. Once accidentally said Kyoryuger rather than Power Rangers Dino Charge when asking the price of a balloon at Party City, confusing the employee. Also quite fond of using "Ikuzo", to the point where people around him will use it.
  • Hated Hometown: His usual answer to where he's from is "Two hours west of Pittsburgh", often omitting the name of the town and even the State. Marietta, Ohio
    • Utopia: How he sees the aforementioned Pittsburgh. Being a huge sports fan helps.
  • Hot Blooded Sideburns: Copied Wolverine's beard style from the movies in 2017 simply because he got tired of getting a mouthful of facial hair when he ate. Subverted, however, as his temperament is nearly the opposite of Hot Blooded.
  • Military Academy: Never attended one, but cheers for Navy in College football.
  • Myers–Briggs: ISTP personality type
  • Neo-Paganism: A more minor irritant is to mistake him for an atheist when he mentions he's non-Christian.
  • Nice Shoes: Usually owns three pairs of shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars when it's warm, Steel-toed boots when it's cold, and dress shoes for formal occasions. Though more often he wears the Chuck Taylors with his suits. And yes, it's done as a shout-out.
  • Not a Morning Person: delayed sleep phase disorder hit him hard, to a point where the absolute earliest he can even attempt sleep without medication is 4am. Going to bed between 8 or 9 in the morning isn't unheard of.
  • Oh, My Gods!: As a Pagan, he's been known to say "by the gods" on occasion.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Averted. Normally calm and collected, if he begins raising his voice, getting angry, and generally going nuts, it just means his sports team is losing.
  • Peking Duck Christmas: Growing up, his Pagan family never celebrated Christmas. Averted in the last several years, as his Catholic wife has made him get involved with Christmas, even though he'd rather not.
  • Porn Stash: Not the least bit embarrassed by it.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: Tends to use "Otherworld" by Nobuo Uematsu in WWE games, backyard wrestling, and E-feds.
  • Soccer-Hating Americans: Averted. He's an American who supports Tottenham Hotspur FC.
    • N-Word Privileges: Like most Tottenham Hotspur fans, identifies himself Yid or Yiddo despite being non-Jewish.
  • Speak Ill of the Dead: Has absolutely no problem doing this. In fact, he believes its opposite trope to be a complete hypocrisy.
  • The Teetotaler: Not completely, but drinks so rarely that he may as well be.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Did this once, and while he liked the look, he reacted badly to the dye.

Appeared in

  • Pro Wrestlers vs. Zombies, where he played a Zombie in blue overalls, and as a wrestling fan in a Matt Smith T-shirt. His two daughters also appeared as wrestling fans. All received credit along with his wife (who didn't appear), though one daughter and himself were misspelled as Hallerwell and Hollowell, respectively. His brother (the one who introduced him to TV tropes) was uncredited as a fan in the opening.
