- Channel Hop: From being published by Konami for the original Super NES release, then by LucasArts on the Wii Virtual Console release, then finally by Disney (the current owners of LucasArts' parent company Lucasfilm) for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Steam, GOG.com release.
- Development Hell: The Movie. It was announced in 2011 but nothing has come out of it.
- Franchise Killer: Ghoul Patrol. While ZAMN was not an immediate success in the first place and, like the cult movies that inspired the game in the first place, its popularity had to build over time. Ghoul Patrol wasn't even advertised as much as the first game itself.
- One-Book Author: Most of the final version of Ghoul Patrol was developed by a Malaysian studio called Motion Pixel, for which this is their only credited game.
- What Could Have Been:
- Ghoul Patrol was in the works before Zombies Ate My Neighbors. LucasArts just hurried GP through and labeled it as a sequel because ZAMN was getting praised by the critics.
- Apparently, the developers would have included battery-backed saves if they could afford it. The 2021 Compilation Re-release gave both games a save feature.
- The game was originally supposed to end after Level 36 but LucasArts went back and added another 12. This may be why you first fight Dr. Tongue on level 36; it may well have been the ONLY fight you had with him before then.
