• Actor-Shared Background: Carla Jeffery (Bree) was a real cheerleader in high school.
• Adored by the Network: Disney Channel heavily hyped up the first movie, starting with the release of "BAMM" as a single on iTunes. Ads for the movie or the "BAMM" music video, or both, aired during every show on Disney Channel, and virtually all the channel's social media posts revolved around it.
• Channel Hop: While Z-O-M-B-I-E-S & Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2 originally premiered on Disney Channel, Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 3 premiered on Disney+.
• Dyeing for Your Art: While most of the zombies wore wigs for their green hair, Milo Manheim has always dyed his.
• Follow the Leader: Not only do these films follow the movie musical format Disney's been using ever since High School Musical, they also try to cash in on the popularity of Descendants with a similar setting and aesop.
• Hide Your Pregnancy: Kylee Russell was pregnant while filming the third movie. She gave birth on July 10, 2021 right before they were finished filming in late July of 2021. Due to this, her character Eliza is always sitting at a desk and is now interning at Z-Corp.
• Irony as She Is Cast: "Baby" Ariel Martin doesn't get to sing as much in the sequel, only being regulated to ensembles, despite being established as a decent singer. She does, however, sing her own promotional song for the film, "The New Kid in Town".
• Meaningful Release Date: Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2 premiered on Valentine's Day of 2020.
• Queer Character, Queer Actor: Non-binary alien A-Spen is played by non-binary actor Terry Hu; both use they/them pronouns.
• Saved from Development Hell: The movie was actually pitched as a TV pilot all the way back in 2012. The pilot never aired on TV. Fortunately, Disney Channel greenlit it as a Made-for-TV Movie in 2017.
• What Could Have Been: The above-mentioned pilot would have featured Maia Mitchell as Addison, John DeLuca as Bucky, and Luke Benward as Zed. The former were then cast in Teen Beach Movie.
