Trivia / Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Barring Isha, the entire Japanese cast from the PS2 version voiced at least two characters each. Special mention goes to Hiroki Takahashi, as two of his roles, Geis and Ord, have a scene where they talk to one another.
    • With the exception of Martin Cassel as Agu, every named character in the PS2 version shares their English voice actor with another character in the game.
  • Dummied Out:
    • Hidden within the game's internal files is a human NPC simply known as Kiiro ("Yellow" in Japanese), a blonde human girl wearing a yellow dress. Despite having a full set of sprites and a dialogue portrait, she was never used in the final game.
    • According to Brittany Avery, there's an entire set of dialogue that was meant to be used in the prologue, but it went unused, mostly because it gives away a lot of plot related stuff way early into the game.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": This game is Terra's first appearance outside Japan, as her debut game, 1995's Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand, was never localized. This also marked the Romun Empire's introduction outside Japan, since neither version 1993's Ys IV was officially translated.
  • The Other Darrin: With the exception of Adol, Ys VI Online opted to use a completely different voice cast instead of the actors from PS2 game or any other work in the franchise. Even series regular Dogi was affected, being voiced by Naofumi Ichihashi instead of Kenta Miyake like he was in the main series, both before and after Online was released.
  • Sequel Gap: Eight years between the original release of Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand and Ys VI.
  • You Look Familiar: In Ys VI Online, Isha is voiced by Yui Ogura, who previously played Calilica in Ys: Memories of Celceta.
