Trivia / The Tourettes Guy

Go To

  • Colbert Bump: It may have been unintentional, but Danny talking about someone going to Jolly Pirate Donuts and taking a 2-hour shit caused someone to actually seek out the restaurant and put a review up online.
  • Corpsing:
    • On one instance, the cameraman actually fell to the floor laughing.
    • The cameraman laughs when Shirlena was discussing her grandpa's worsening Alzheimer's. Usually such a disease is Serious Business, but the events Shirlena described were so ridiculous that Danny was struggling to fight back laughter the entire time. At least, until Shirlena caught him, then he just let it all out.
Danny: AHAHAHAHAHA YOUR GRANDPA'S AN ASS!!
  • The Danza: Danny and Shirlena share their first names with their (alleged) actors, Daniel Hempstead and Shirlena Six.
  • Doing It for the Art: The creators make little to no money from the series, and the videos are made purely for entertainment.
  • Dyeing for Your Art: Three years passed between "Tourettes Guy Gets the Hiccups" and "Buried Alive", and it is speculated that those three years were spent trashing Danny's house for the latter.
  • Missing Episode:
    • According to the creators, after Danny goes back to sleep at the end of the M&M video, they assumed he slept until the camera stopped filming and cut out the rest of the footage. Years later they revisited the footage and found a short clip of Danny waking up about an hour later and falling out of his bed trying to touch the M&M.
    • Two segments from the 2004-2006 webisodes were deleted from the 2007 "Best Of" DVD remaster. One had Danny sleepwalking drunk down the room, cussing constantly before hitting a wall, while the other has him trying to order pizza over the phone (this segment was one of the original 2002 videos, but is shortened in the webisode). They were presumably cut because the creators didn't think they were funny.
    • An extended outtake from the commercial for Fear Before the March of Flames' The Always Open Mouth, where Danny yells "Turn that shit down! PISSSSS!" and his neckbrace falls off, appears at the beginning of "Bird in the House". It is cut from the DVD likely due to it being partially incorporated in the DVD's remaster of said commercial.
    • Of the six 2002 videos, only two of them, "The Head and Shoulders Incident" and the aforementioned shorter version of "Ordering Pizza", made their way to the webisodes, and only the former was remastered for DVD. The rest can't be found anywhere since Elbow World no longer exists, and are believed to be lost.
  • Real-Life Relative: The actors who play Danny's son, the cameraman, and Shirlena are siblings in real life.
  • What Could Have Been: Danny could have been on Wheel of Fortune. But given the squeaky-clean family-friendly image that show tries to project and Danny's condition, there was no chance in a million light years of this happening.
