- Dawson Casting: This series gets hit hard with this. It even enhances it via Age Lift, as it plays fast in loose with historical ages of the characters.
- Charlotte Hope most definitely isn't 15, as real Catherine was at the time of her marriage.
- Ruairi O'Connor is even more ridiculous. Real Henry was 10 when his older brother died. The show ages him up to (presumably) a teenager... played by a 30-year old (to be fair, he is surprisingly convincing and looks much younger than he is, and the difference evens out somewhat by the time season 2 rolls around).
- As adorable as she is, Georgie Henley still is 25, not 14 as Margaret was when she married the king of Scotland.
- Mary Tudor was 18 when she married the King of France, whereas Sai Bennett was around 30 at the time of filming. In fact, she's almost three years older than the actor who plays Charles Brandon, her second husband, whereas the real-life Mary was twelve years younger than Brandon.
- Dyeing for Your Art: Ruairi O'Connor dyed his hair red to play the rea life red head Henry VIII
- Fake Nationality: Englishwoman Charlotte Hope plays the titular Catherine of Aragon, down to an accent.
- The Other Darrin: The entire cast of the show was changed more than once prior to its release.
