- Completely Different Title: In Latin America, it was renamed Una Niñera a Prueba de Balas ("A Bulletproof Babysitter"), while Spain had it as Un Canguro Superduro ("A Super-Tough Babysitter"). In Russia, it got the name Лысый нянька: Спецзадание ("The Bald Babysitter: Special Assignment").
- Franchise Killer: In a more bizarre example of this, it was Vin Diesel's decision to pursue this film that led to his absence from xXx: State of the Union, released in the same year and seriously harming its reception from fans and critics of the xXx series.
- Throw It In!: The whole sequence with Lulu telling Shane she thinks he is cute was apparently an exact recreation of the first meeting between the young actress Morgan York and Vin Diesel, including his bemused "Thanks?"

- Originally Jackie Chan was attached to this film. The ninjas in the movie, in fact, are from his stunt team. There was also a Running Gag where he tries to kill and cook the duck, much to the horror of the kids and eventually ends caring for it.
