  • Acclaimed Flop: The game was well-reviewed, but suffered from being released at a time when big-budget PC-exclusive games (outside of The Sims) were ceasing to be commercially viable, meaning that sales of the base game were mediocre at best, and the expansion pack even worse.
  • Cast the Expert: The news anchor on the radio is real-life New York news veteran Tony Guida.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Physical copies of this game are hard to find. The game was once available on Steam but with the buyout of Lionhead Studios by Microsoft, the license of the game with Activision was not renewed and thus the game was eventually removed for sale. The expansion pack might be even trickier to locate depending on your region. Right now the game is available on several Abandon Ware sites, although this could change as of January 2022, as Microsoft will acquire Activision for $68.7 billion.
  • What Could Have Been: Before the devs left Bullfrog Productions to form Lionhead Studios after EA acquired the former, the game was under planning stage at Bullfrog under the title Theme Movie Studio.
