• Executive Meddling: Tobe Hooper was apparently fired midway through production with producer Anant Singh finishing the movie himself.
• Fake American: Most of the supporting cast are South African performers barely bothering to disguise their native accents.
• Parody Retcon: According to one of the screenwriters, he and Tobe Hooper planned the movie to be a lot more tongue-in-cheek than it turned out, which explains the over-the-top approach in many scenes. This apparently was the main reason Hooper was fired, as the producers wanted a straightforward horror movie...about a possessed laundry presser.
• Write What You Know: Stephen King worked at an industrial laundry for a brief time before his writing career took off. One assumes he did not enjoy the experience.
