• The Other Darrin:
  • Will Ryan was replaced by Jeff Bennett as Petrie for the rest of the franchise.
  • The Latin Spanish dub moved from Los Angeles to Mexico. Elsa Covián would voice Littlefoot for the rest of the franchise.
• The Other Marty: In the French dub, Boris Roatta had been cast as the voice of Littlefoot, but he died in a cycling accident. He was replaced by Donald Reignoux.
• Science Marches On: Ozzy's obsessive love of eating eggs is based on since-discredited theories regarding ornithomimid diet. It's now generally believed that ornithomimids were mostly omnivorous generalists; while it's certainly possible that they helped themselves to eggs on occasion, it probably wasn't their staple food.
• Sequel Gap: Given how infamous the franchise became for its numerous sequels, it's pretty easy to forget that the time between the original film (1988) and The Great Valley Adventure (1994), was actually fairly long, at six years.
