• Content Leak: With the exception of the K' team, every single character addition (including bosses and DLC) were discovered through dummy data in the console versions of XII.
• Newbie Boom: Many newer fans got into the series through this game, thanks in part to it being the first major release in the post Street Fighter IV era of fighting games, and to the Steam release being very cheap and easy to run on most hardware.
• The Other Darrin: Starting with this game, Ami Koshimizu takes over as the voice for Mai Shiranui. Surprisingly, she would reprise this role in the Japanese dub for the live action film.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Allegedly, Jubei Yamada was considered for the third member of the Kim team, before the team decided to use Hwa Jai. This is likely because Hwa's sprites could be easily edited from Joe's, reducing the workload given how expensive and time consuming they were to make.
  • Within the game's gallery exists incomplete line art for Adelheid Bernstein, suggesting that he was strongly considered to be playable but was never finished, likely due to time constraints.
