- Keep Circulating the Tapes: The Criterion laserdisc had a scene-by-scene analysis of the entire film using storyboards, screenplay excerpts and behind-the-scenes photos. Criterion's 2015 Blu-Ray does not port this over.
- Those Two Actors: Robin Williams and Michael Jeter would go on to appear in several other films together, including Patch Adams and Jacob the Liar.
- Additionally, Williams and Amanda Plummer had appeared together nearly a decade earlier in The World According to Garp.
- Dan Futterman plays one of the punks who try to beat up Jack. He would later play Robin Williams’ son in The Birdcage.
- Throw It In!: In the original script, the scene in Grand Central Station was only supposed to have a woman singing. It was Terry Gilliam's idea to have the commuters dance a waltz.
- What Could Have Been:
- James Cameron was originally going to direct, but he was busy with Terminator 2: Judgment Day. His vision would have been a more reality-grounded caper film.
- Kevin Kline, Ron Silver and Bruce Willis were considered for Jack Lucas.
