• Acting for Two:
  • Eva Almos voices Friend Bear and Swift Heart Rabbit.
  • Anni Evans voices Secret Bear and Champ Bear.
  • Luba Goy voices Lotsa Heart Elephant and Gentle Heart Lamb.
  • Melleny Brown voices Cheer Bear and Baby Tugs Bear.
  • Billie Mae Richards voices Nicholas's mother and Tenderheart Bear.

• Blooper:
  • A couple of shots with the Care Bear Cousins feature them with their tummy symbols before they officially receive them at the end of the film.
  • There's also a moment during the dance around the maypole in the Forest of Feelings where, instead of Secret Bear, you see Tenderheart.
• Celebrity Voice Actor: Mickey Rooney voices Nicholas Cherrywood
• Children Voicing Children: The younger Nicholas, Kim and Jason were all voiced by child actors.
• Dueling Movies: With Disney's The Black Cauldron, of all things. Even more shocking is that this movie actually won (though given how controversial the former was, The Care Bears Movie seemed more like a traditional Disney animated movie by comparison). Disney Channel ended up purchasing rights to televise The Care Bears Movie.
• Non-Singing Voice: The late Harry Dean Stanton was credited as the singing voice of Brave Heart Lion for "Home is in Your Heart".
• Real-Life Relative: A quite extreme example happens in the Latin American Spanish dub: Rocío Garcel voiced Kim, her elder sister Sylvia voiced Love-a-Lot Bear, Rocio's daughter Vanessa voiced Hugs, and her husband Jorge Roig Sr. voiced Brave Heart Lion.
• Troubled Production: Nelvana had some trouble with the outsourcing. Not with the Taiwan unit, but rather the Korean unit. This is why the sequel was only animated in both Canada and Taiwan.
• Unspecified Role Credit: Everyone in the cast besides Mickey Rooney (Mr. Cherrywood), Jackie Burroughs (Spirit), Georgia Engel (Love-a-Lot Bear) and Sunny Besen Thrasher (Jason) are listed without their roles.
