Trivia / Technodelic

Go To

  • Channel Hop: The European release of this album marked YMO's shift to making international releases of their albums directly through Alfa Records, following the American commercial failure of BGM and the band's consequent dropping by A&M Records. Alfa would later release Solid State Survivor in Europe and Technodelic in Australia in 1982 before partnering with Pick Up Records the following year.
  • Feelies: LP copies came packaged with the lyrics in a small pamphlet; this is replicated in a miniature size on the 2019 SACD reissue.
  • Late Export for You:
    • The album was released in Australia in 1982, well after the Japanese and European releases.
    • Because of the band's dropping by A&M, this album was one of many by YMO to remain unreleased in the US until 1992, as part of Restless Records' CD reissues.
  • Similarly Named Works:
    • An example contained to the same act: Technodelic and Technodon, despite having very similar names and being put out by the same band, are starkly different in sound and style.
    • "Epilogue" shares its name with a later Ryuichi Sakamoto solo composition included on his 1991 album Heartbeat.
  • Working Title: "Seikan Ferry" and "Good Night Music" for "Prologue" and "Epilogue", respectively.
