Trivia / Tears of Themis

Go To

  • All-Star Cast: The main four alone are already voiced by Jun Fukuyama, Jun'ichi Suwabe, Yuki Kaji and Kaito Ishikawa, and while unstated, several other known voice actors such as Kazuya Nakai note  are featured in the Japanese dub.
  • Creator's Oddball: miHoYo's works tend to be mobile action games with an Improbably Female Cast. Tears Of Themis, meanwhile, goes in the opposite direction, being an Otome Game visual novel with Ace Attorney-style investigation.
  • No Dub for You: The global localization in English is the only one that doesn’t have corresponding voice acting. The voice packs the player has the choice of downloading at the start are Chinese (Simplified or Traditional), Japanese, and Korean.
  • Troubled Production: Early on 2022, Jun'ichi Suwabe got struck with COVID-19 which led to Artem's 3rd Personal Story along with his lines in Main Story Chapter 6 Part 2 not being voiced. Then, it was announced on October 2022 that the future Main Story and Personal Stories would no longer have Japanese dubs due to logistic issues. Only the SSR cards would have Japanese voices. On February 2023, however, it was announced that the missing Japanese dub tracks would be filled in.
  • What Could Have Been: The beta version of the home screen reveals a couple interesting differences: first, the background was much airier and wider as the Vyn invitation proves; while the combat option was still in the lower right, the scales it featured looked way less abstract, the in-game phone was at the lower right corner beneath it, and many of the options now found at the top left were at the top right. The Tears count was also visible on the top right, something that is now only to be viewed when one does a gacha pull. The font was something much more traditional, slightly resembling Times New Roman. The Luke invitation still had a similar background but was different, and the Artem invitation ended up being changed entirely.
    • There was also an unused character, who is likely a prototype of Wayne Hanks who appears in the second chapter of Vyn's side story, judging by the character's pose. This also shows that the 'back' button during story segments was supposed to be at the bottom instead of at the top.
    • There were a lot of gameplay-related concepts during the beta test that turned out to be different from the released version. The largest difference is that you could attack twice without any specific study room talent.
      • You were not standing exactly against your opponent, but rather, they looked down on you from the top. Their health bar was visible beneath them, and MC had her own card as visible in above link, which was likely given as your default card. Furthermore, the cards also weren't neatly assorted at the bottom of the screen like a Sylladex, but were located at the middle of the screen. From what it looks like, the gameplay would have been much more like that of Mr. Love: Queen's Choice because tapping the cards was not necessary for attack, as per Follow the Leader. It also features a yet unknown Artem card that likely changed its design somewhere down the line (possibly Atmospherics). Luke's Radiant Sunlight card and Vyn's Lingering Warmth card is still recognizeable, but different from the final product.
      • Lingering Warmth appeared to be in an unevolved state, judging from how the card looks now when it has been evolved twice. This is likely the reason why its E2 art appears in the story before its base art does.
      • Footage of the previous incarnation of the chat function shows a darker background.
