• Actor Allusion: Sable lives in Portland, Oregon, and his therapist is played by Carrie Brownstein, one half of Portlandia.
• Approval of God: The real life Tag Brothers liked having their story fictionalized and enjoyed the movie.
• The Cast Show Off: The end credits close out to Jeremy Renner singing “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm” with the rest of the main cast providing backing vocals.
• Casting Gag: Brian Dennehy makes a very brief cameo because one of the actual Tag Brothers happens to have the same name.
• No Stunt Double: Jeremy Renner broke his right elbow and left wrist while performing the chair surfing stunt seen in the movie. Everyone thought this would put production on hold, but Renner came back from the hospital the same day and continued performing action-heavy sequences even with his arms in casts.
• Underage Casting: The main cast of guys are supposed to have attended high school together and supposedly about the same age, but the actual ages of the actors are a much wider span, with Hannibal Buress twelve years younger than Jeremy Renner.
