For the comic book:
- Executive Meddling: The 2011 series was unfortunately rifled with this, with much of John Rozum's ideas being shot down in favor of Scott McDaniel's. What resulted was the series getting cancelled after 8 issues, and effectively forcing Static and the rest of Milestone into comic book limbo.
- What Could Have Been: Geoff Johns wanted to include Static during his 2003 relaunch of Teen Titans but was denied due to legal reasons.
- Static was also set to appear in Injustice 2, but lawsuits and other legal red tape over Milestone's IPs killed that plan. One of the game's designers revealed what his new costume would have looked like had he made it into the game.
For the film:
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Rescued. Word Of God from creator Mark Romanek was that he considered the film an "immature, sophomore effort" that is unrepresentative of his directorial abilities. VHS and Lasercdisc releases existed; but became increasingly difficult to find. Romanek eventually relented; and the film was released on DVD in 2007, and is still available.
