Trivia / Star Fox Command

Go To

  • Franchise Killer: The lukewarm reception of this game meant that it would be over 5 years until Nintendo gave the series another shot with Star Fox 64 3D. Even then, it took another 5 years for a truly new installment to come out, with said installment being a Continuity Reboot.
  • God Never Said That: It is commonly misbelieved that Command is non-canon and takes place in an alternate timeline from the previous three games. Many who believe this cite a Reddit post by the game’s director, Dylan Cuthbert, where he described Command as an “alternate timeline kind of game”. However, Cuthbert elaborated in another Reddit post that he just meant that in the sense that each playthrough of the game is intended as an alternate reality from other playthroughs due to the game’s Multiple Endings and that none of the game’s endings were written with the intent of being the canon ending.
  • Urban Legend of Zelda: There are rumors floating around of a scrapped unlockable storyline path leading to a Golden Ending. If true, this was entirely shelved, as there is no evidence for it in the code (that is, Dummied Out has been Averted for once). According to the rumor on GameFAQs, the true ending would have elements of most of the endings, with Fox promising to get Star Wolf's bounty cleared, Krystal leaving both Star Fox and Star Wolf for an indefinite period of time to sort out her thoughts (with the implication that she would return to Fox), and the Star Fox team remaining together. Slippy also brought up heading to Aquas to be married to Amanda, and Dash shows up to mention that he will act as the warden for the terraformed Venom (with the implication that he will eventually turn out like Andross, as in the "Dash Makes A Choice" ending). In other words, the Golden Ending would resolve the Anglar threat while remaining wishy-washy about the character development over the game's course.
