• No Dub for You: Much like with Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, The Cosmic Shake originally didn't include the Latin American Spanish dub at launch, (The in-game text, however, is localized in Latin America Spanish at launch.) until the dub was added in the 1.0.4 update, thus averting the lack of a Latin American Spanish dub.
  • The Cosmic Shake, however, lacks an Italian dub (Despite the fact that the in-game text is localized in Italian), and was not updated to include it.
• The Original Darrin: Clancy Brown is back as Mr. Krabs after Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated opted to reuse Joe Whyte's voice lines.
• Sequel Gap: Not counting Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, the last original game made in this style was The Sponge Bob Movie Game, which was released all the way back in 2004, 19 years before The Cosmic Shake.
• What Could Have Been: The first trailer portrays the prehistoric section as having SpongeBob donning a skin that resembles pre-historic SpongeBob from the episode "SB-129", whereas in the Gameplay trailer, SpongeBob has been altered to resemble SpongeGar from the episode "Ugh". The skin is still in the game, though, as a Development Gag, since it's in the pre-order Costume Pack DLC.
