  • Approval of God:
    • Although Phil Collins was initially upset by their parody of him, he later changed his mind and consequently commissioned them to do the music video for Genesis' "Land of Confusion".
    • There was backlash when the revival parodied Greta Thunberg because she was only 17 at the time, although Thunberg actually liked the parody on Twitter.
  • Creator Backlash: Co-creator Peter Fluck has gone so far to claim he "hates puppets" in an interview with The Guardian. Back in 2000 he planned to throw all the 900 and counting puppets of the original show on a bonfire because he was so sick of them. Luckily someone got a better idea and decided to simply auction them.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Steve Nallon as Margaret Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Twice!
  • Development Gag: The "Commons of House" song has Nigel Lawson deliver Loadsamoney's "Whop your wads on the counter" line. In earlier shows Lawson had been voiced by Loadsamoney's creator Harry Enfield.
  • Deleted Scenes: When Britbox began streaming the 1984 series alongside the 2020 revival, they edited out all references to Jimmy Savile, such as the first Herr von Wilcox sketch ending before Thatcher tells Denis that Jimmy Savile was coming to dinner.
  • Follow the Leader: The creators of Les Guignols de l'Info admitted they were inspired by Spitting Image.
  • The Other Darrin: Prince Charles, Harry, Andrew, and Queen Elizabeth all gained different voice actors in the 2020 reboot.
  • Role Reprise: Steve Nallon reprises his role as Margaret Thatcher in an episode of the reboot.
  • Throw It In!: The only reason Geoffrey Howe missed out on the dancing in In the Mood was that the puppeteer got too tired since Howe was one of the heavier puppets and decided that he really needed to take a break.
