- Adaptation First: A South Korean version of the second film, Wish of the Holy Dragon, was released without the country ever getting a Korean version of the original game.
- Cash-Cow Franchise: The game spawned an entire franchise of films, TV shows, and toys that have made considerable amounts of money for Tencent.
- Hey, It's That Sound!: The Monon Color game Roco Kingdom: Big Adventure uses numerous sound effects from Super Mario Bros., such as the 1-up sound in Studio 1-Up's logo and the jump sound when Dimo jumps. Additionally, the sound that plays in the Kirby Super Star story "The Great Cave Offensive" whenever you collect a treasure appears when you... collect whatever's in a treasure chest (or free another pet).
- Follow the Leader: Roco Kingdom was created as Tencent's answer to Taomee's SEER, which itself takes several cues from Pokémon. By extension, Roco Kingdom bears a few significant similarities to Pokemon, such as the pets having elemental types with matching attacks and being captured in Pokeball-esque devices.
- The Merch: Roco Kingdom has had multiple toys made for it, among them LEGO-like minifigures, a series of trading cards, and a 3D marble puzzle that's very much a knockoff of the Perplexus line.
- Sequel First: South Korea has only received the second film, Wish of the Holy Dragon.
