  • Channel Hop: In 1982 from BBC1 to S4C, where (as of February 2023) it remains the channel's most watched show.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: As with many British soap operas, Pobol y Cwm isn't generally released on video, DVD or streaming sites. The BBC's own iPlayer service typically keeps a month or so (about a dozen episodes) available, but there are over 8,000 episodes and the rest of the show's long history is impossible to view, at least through legal means.
  • Series Hiatus: Pobol y Cwm is a Long Runner with multiple episodes per week, which aren’t structured in seasons - so there's usually no gap in the schedule. However, the Welsh lockdowns due to the COVID-19 Pandemic meant that it was off the air for almost three months in 2020. The channel filled the gap with a 'behind the scenes' show and repeats of famous episodes.
  • Working Title: According to the BBC, the series was originally going to be called Trefelin (meaning Milltown), but it was renamed before its launch.
  • You Look Familiar: Buddug Williams, who played Beti Harries 1974-1975, returned to play 'Anti' Marian Rees from 2000-2016.
