  • Celebrity Voice Actor: The Latin American Spanish dub of the show has Troll voiced by Mexican singer Polo Rojas.
  • Dawson Casting: We have adult actors voicing teenage characters.
  • He Also Did: Series creator Jeff Harter would later go on to make Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese.
  • Inspiration for the Work: The idea for the series was born of Jeff Harter's childhood fascination with space and science-fiction (particularly the term "Planet X") and him looking through some of the old novelty toy ads once commonly found in comic books.
  • International Coproduction: Between American Greetings in the United States and DHX Media Vancouver (formerly Studio B Productions) in Canada.
  • Out of Order: "Return to Sender" (the show's 15th episode {12th in production order}) was aired as the premier in Canada.
  • Short Run in Peru: The series debuted on Disney XD almost a year before it did on Teletoon.
  • Screwed by the Network: Let's just say Disney XD barely paid attention to it, and removed the show less than a year later. At the very least, the show did get a proper finale despite lasting only a single season as a result of its treatment.
  • What Could Have Been: This post from Jeff Harter's blog reveals quite a lot of interesting information about the series' development process.
    • When Harter first conceived the series' concept, he originally wanted it to be a full-length animated feature. As a result, his early designs for Dan, Troll, and Amanda were much less cartoony, and the characters were originally going to be much younger, with Dan in particular going to be a very nerdy character.
    • Originally, there were to be two rival comic shop owners involved in the main trio's adventures and interactions with the eponymous packages. One was an eccentric mentor-type character for the trio who gave them bizarre comic book-inspired advice in an effort to help them despite his nonexistent understanding of the packages, and the other was going to be the antagonist trying to use the packages for his own evil purposes. These two characters eventually became Uncle Rory and Copernicus.
    • One early concept was of a three-faced tiki named Thriki that was sent to Dan as a sort of "instruction manual" for the packages he received, coming to life at inopportune times to give conflicting advice about the packages from each of its faces in a monotone voice. In the final product, Thriki was replaced with CuRT.
