• Real-Life Relative: Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are, of course, a couple in real life.
• Romance on the Set: Subverted. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn had been a couple for some four years before this film.
• Throw It In!: Apparently the kid who played Joey was obsessed with Pee Wee Herman in real life and was constantly doing impressions of him on the set, and finally the filmmakers just decided to let him do it onscreen as well.
• Vindicated by Cable: This movie has been a cable-TV favorite for decades.
