  • Bob Claver directed 62 episodes. Claver is best known for co-creating Captain Kangaroo.
  • Scott Baio directed 11 episodes. Baio is best known for playing Chachi Arcola on Happy Days (and its far less successful spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi), Charles on Charles in Charge, Jack Stewart on Diagnosis: Murder, and David Hobbs on See Dad Run.
  • Mike Scully wrote 14 episodes. Scully is best known as co-creator and co-executive producer of The Pitts.

• Hide Your Pregnancy: During the second season, actress Donna Pescow became pregnant. Since it couldn't be explained how her character became pregnant while her husband was away fighting a war, Pescow was filmed using only close-up shots or staged so something was hiding her pregnancy.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Not only is DVD distribution tied up in limbo due to legal issues with the showrunners being blocked from making any more money off the show, but this also prevents it from rerunning on American television, where reruns last aired in the mid-nineties.
• Real Song Theme Tune: "Swinging on a Star" with new lyrics about "going to Earth" (as opposed to being a mule).
• Uncredited Role: Burt Reynolds asked that his name be left off the series' credits, since he was doing it as a favor to the producers. At the time, he was busy with Evening Shade.
• You Look Familiar: The actor who played Uncle Mick in the final season appeared in a one-shot guest role during season two.
