- Kids' Meal Toy: As they did with the previous film, McDonald's had a Happy Meal tie-in, this one having one hundred and two different toys. Like with the previous promotion, it is considered one of the most expensive sets due to just how many toys there are.
- Multiple Languages, Same Voice Actor: Gérard Depardieu and Alice Evans performed their on-camera roles in English and re-dubbed them for the European French release.
- The Other Darrin: Yolanda Vidal and Cesar Arias did not voice Cruella de Vil and Alonzo in this film's Latin American dub, being replaced by Reina Reech and Herman López instead.
- Referenced by...: In Infinite Craft, "102 Dalmatians" is a possible crafting recipe.
- Release Date Change: The film was originally planned to be released on June 30, 2000. However, it was delayed to November 22.
- Role Reprise: Glenn Close and Tim McInnerny were the only original cast members from the first film to reprise their roles as Cruella de Vil and Alonzo respectively.
- Studio Hop: Due to Great Oaks Entertainment's closure in 1997, the film was produced by Disney themselves.
- What Could Have Been: John Hughes, who wrote the first film, was set to write and produce this one as well, but was let go by Disney after Flubber flopped critically.
- Working Title: Started in production as 101 Dalmatians Return.
