- Directed by Cast Member: In addition to directing the film, Vincente DiSanti plays Jason — most of the time. His stunt coordinator insisted he hire a stunt double for Jason, since if Vincente got hurt doing a stunt, they'd be out a Jason and a director.
- Follow the Leader: Though many fan films have been made in the past, more fans have been creating their own Friday the 13th fan films after the success of Never Hike Alone, either through crowdfunding or out of their own pocket. Given the ongoing legal battle that's halting the franchise from making another movie and stopped the official video game and merchandise cold, however, many fans don’t mind as long as they’re well-made movies.
- Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition: There was an Indiegogo campaign in 2018 that allowed fans to get the film on Blu-ray (all proceeds went to the production of the Blu-Ray, all the perks and towards charity after the California fires). Depending on the perk you would’ve gotten the score on CD, a poster, a replica hockey mask, a digital copy of the script, a Ghost Jason figurine, a VHS copy of the movie, and so on.
- Meaningful Release Date: Twofold. Not only was the film released on a Friday the 13th, it was also in the middle of October, close to Halloween.
- Minimalist Cast: Only five people appear in the whole movie.
- Missing Trailer Scene: The entire first trailer is scenes not in the final film. Likely due to changing the film heavily between shooting the scenes and the actual film (the description states Never Hike Alone will be a 22-minute film, while the final film is 53 minutes). See Serendipity Writes the Plot.
- Role Reprise: Thom Mathews returns as Tommy Jarvis in this fan film.
- Serendipity Writes the Plot: Almost entirely. Finding what looked like some abandoned cabins as a nice shooting location, the crew went back to shoot the first trailer, to find out they were actually owned. The owners seemed cool with what the crew was doing, and when they were told the crew was making a Friday the 13th Fan Film, mentioned a completely abandoned camp nearby. Upon seeing how much production value the abandoned camp offered, the decision was made to go substantially more ambitious with the film than originally intended.
