  • Dummied Out: A nearly complete model of the Nissan GT-R (R35), included with showroom data, could be found in the files of the original release of LA, and would be removed afterwards in later updates.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: 3 has "Real Big" by Mannie Fresh, while LA has "Dundy Lion" by Markus Kienzl.
    • Speaking of 3, its intro theme is "Follow the Leader" by Calyx.
    • The original game had "Strings of Life" by Derrick May.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A North American commercial for Midnight Club 2 hinted that the game was originally going to be darker, due to the Mature rating.
    • In Midnight Club: Street Racing, Tokyo was originally going to make a debut in the game while featuring the actual Inner Circular Route AKA Route C1 and a small portion of New Belt Line, but it got cut due to time constraints only to return in 2 albeit with a far different layout.
    • The files for Midnight Club 3 reveals BMW was intended to be in the game via the Z3 M and the 328i. Also hidden among the files are references to a Toyota Celica, dirt bikes and ATV's as entire vehicle classes, Maybachnote  as another cut manufacturer, and perhaps most oddly of all, a Mini Cooper.
    • Los Angeles has an unused 2008 Nissan GT-R (CBA-R35) with complete visual parts and would have been a Class A tuner that could rival the game-breakingly good sports bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14. The car was originally going to be featured in the South Central expansion (as well Complete Edition) but it ended up being cut due to time constraints. Drag racing, as mentioned within the game files, was also planned to be introduced in the expansion as well.
    • Los Angeles has a Dummied Out Easter Egg, in which creating a Vanity Licence Plate that reads as a variation of "Need for Speed Sucks" would cause the police dispatcher to actually read it out during a pursuit, something the dispatcher doesn't usually do.
    • A proposed Midnight Club 5 was planned to be set in either Las Vegas or London. The Vegas idea was also proposed as a possible setting for the fourth game before Los Angeles was chosen instead.
