  • Black Sheep Hit: As the featured vocalist on Zedd's "The Middle". She had previously only been known as a country artist, and her being the featured vocalist on a mainstream pop song was a very left-field choice. But, the song became a huge hit, and it changed the trajectory of her career forever.
  • Chart Displacement: Her three solo #1 hits are "I Could Use a Love Song", "Girl", and "The Bones", the former two of which are nowhere near as famous in the long run as her debut single "My Church", which only got to #9 and was the highest-selling of her solo releases until "The Bones".
  • Creator Couple: She was married to singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd.
  • Follow-Up Failure: Her biggest chart hit and most successful crossover, "The Bones", was followed by her lowest-charting song to date, "To Hell and Back".
  • Sleeper Hit: "The Bones" was released in 2019, but did not begin to cross over to pop until 2020. As a result it became the lowest-charting song to make the Billboard Year-End charts since Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait" in 1998.
